Master Layout
Method 1

Tutorial Previous Page <> Next Page

  • This Master Layout page was assembled using John's method. This table cell (our old page layout) has CSS 5px padding to help separate the content from the banner and nav bar cells.
  • Per John's suggestion, we added background colors to the cells containing the banner and navigation bar to give the page a little nicer look.
  • All table cells are set to Top and Left alignment.
  • This method can look a little weird when you have content in the left MasterBorder, because that left table column expands proportionally to the size of the browser window.

Workaround: If you can use horizontal nav bars (or CoolMaps DM2 component) in the top or bottom MasterBorder, a master layout made this way will look better. (Caution: don't let  horizontal nav bars get too wide: remember, we're trying for a total master layout page width of 600 pixels or less...)
