Why does this happen?
Fusion MX has a hard coded utility that wants to update the Services View with the NetObjects servers. You can't turn this off, but you can keep it from "freezing" Fusion whenever Fusion can't connect to the NetObjects update server.
Fusion 7 fixes this problem permanently.
- In Fusion 7, disable automatic update checks (Tools, Options, Updates tab)
- If you leave automatic update checks enabled, the connection attempt will time out very quickly if the update server is not available.
To work around the problem in Fusion MX:
The fix is to replace three files in the folder c:\NetObjects Fusion MX\NetObjects System\Online with the ones available at the link below http://www.leftcoastart.net/~fusion/
- Please ensure you rename or otherwise back up the original HTML files. If Website Pros makes available any updates for Fusion MX, you will want to be able to get updates again.
